Weirdest facts of Cricket

Pakistan v India - ICC World Twenty20 2012: Super Eights Group 2
  1. A batsman having an average of 45 in ODIs is considered excellent but when he plays for 40 percent of the overs we call him a flop if he makes an average of 18 in T20s, despite being given 40 percent time to play.
  2. The tag of ‘allrounder’ is attached when a person bowls and bats effectively without considering his fielding abilities, but a person who does excellent wicket keeping and batting is never considered an all rounder because he does not bowl.
  3. Despite knowing the fact that mid-on is a position within the 30 yard circle, the best of the commentators tell that mid-on is inside the circle and we call them good commentators.
  4. We enjoy Test matches when batsmen play with strike rates more than 100 but rate the batsman as not suited to T20 when he plays three consecutive dot balls.
  5. We want the batsmen in an ODI to carry the bat through the entire 50 overs but we say that the bowler can’t bowl more than 10 overs despite his efficient bowling abilities.
  6. The batsmen play all the master-strokes when the powerplay is on but can’t play the same strokes when there are four slips behind waiting for the edge.
  7. Batsmen are allowed to play switch hits and disturb the concentration of bowlers but bowlers are not allowed to do the same.
