Arjun Tendulkar not picked in playing XI of first U-14 tie

Arjun Tendulkar's U-14 debut has to wait since he was not included in the playing XI against Gujarat for the first West Zone league tie that started at Motera on Sunday.

Though the 12-year-old was not a part of the playing XI, he was seen cheering the team from the pavilion, that caught all the attention.Sachin Tendulkar's son, Arjun was selected to play U-14 zonal tournament for Mumbai last month. He was also named in the 32-member list of probables, since he had scored 295 off 5 matches in Mumbai's inter-school competition.

Arjun first played Cadence Trophy, a national level tournament in Pune, before being picked for U-14 Mumbai team.

Though many were excited about Arjun's selection, parents of other children speculated his selection as other good performances were ignored while naming Sachin Tendulkar's son in the U-14 Mumbai squad, according to a Times of India report.

While the controversy over Arjun's selection had created aflutter, the issue is slowly fading, as people have started to focus on the legendary cricketer's son, who is hoping to make his debut for Mumbai in U-14 zonal tournament. Since he was not included in the team for the first tie against Gujarat, it remains to be seen if the
12-year-old gets an opportunity to make his debut this season.
